In Artifi, attributes play a key role in managing how products are set up, displayed, and customized. Attributes define how a product behaves - whether it creates product variations, enables colorization of specific areas, or allows imprint customization such as text, arc text and logos.
There are three types of attributes that can be created in Artifi, depending on the type of setup needed:
1. Product Attributes
Purpose:
Used to create product variants (combinations and permutations) that are directly associated with SKUs.
Example:
A Jersey is available in:
Colors: Red, Blue, Green, Purple
Sizes: S (Small), L (Large)
Here, Colors and Sizes are Product Attributes because they create SKU-level variations as shown in the image below:
2. Custom Attributes
Purpose:
Used when you need to enable customization or show options without affecting SKUs. Typically used for colorizing different sections of a product or for custom product behavior.
Example:
A Cap product allows Shoppers to:
Select a different section of the cap color (only for visual effect, does not change SKU.
Here, Front Panel, Side, Back Panel, Bill, X-Peak, Eyelet and Button component & colors are Custom Attributes because they do not create new SKUs but affect how the product is visually represented.
3. Color Attributes
Purpose:
Used for imprint color selection, allowing users to apply chosen colors to customization elements such as:
Text
Arc Text
Logos/Images
Example:
A customer is personalizing a stamp by adding a logo and text.
They add a “logo”.
They type "text" on the stamp.
They select imprint colors: Black, Blue, Brown etc.
Here, the Colors is the Color Attribute that has multiple values that colorizes the logo and text without changing the product SKU.
