Overview
This article explains how to update existing variants for a product. By updating variants, you can adjust SKUs, modify attribute values, change the default selection, or upload new images without recreating the variant.
Prerequisites
Before updating variants, ensure the following:
The product already has variants created.
The product already has variants added that you want to update.
Variant images are consistent in style and use the same dimensions.
Steps to Edit Variants
Navigate to Merchandise and click on the Product Setup menu.
Search for the product by Product Name or Product Code, then click the product name.
From the left navigation, select Define Variants. The list of existing variants will appear.
Locate the variant you wish to edit and click the Edit (Pencil Icon) next to it.
Update the variant details, such as:
Variant Code (SKU)
Attribute Values (dropdowns)
Default Variant
Replace Image
Once the details are updated click on the Update icon.
The variant details will be updated and a success message will appear.

No, the Attribute Set cannot be changed once the variant is created. To use a different
Attribute Set, create a new product variant instead.
